Another in between post

THANKS, dear readers, for all the wonderful comments on my last post.
I was a little bit insecure about that post at first – it’s scary to put
emotional “highlights” of your life online and although my talking about
music doesn’t seem too personal, it sure was to me!
But you all felt that right away – I think I’m right when I state that we all
have a “personal soundtrack of our life” and you all felt the importance
of it when I shared mine…

So thanks friends for the kind words and nice compliments on my writing!
(“You should do something with your writing” some of you commented…
I’m working on it ladies, I’m working on it!)

For now, I have two things to share.
Don’t want to let these stay on hold any longer…

I pushed her just a little bit ;)

Good morning, good morning.
It’s fun to think you all wake up in another town, another country…
and in a few hours my son will wake up here:

This photo makes me sing Bob Dylan songs!
Cryptic?
Mwaaaahhhh…. not for old hippies like me!
This is a photo of Nashville.
“Nashville Skyline” – an album by Bob Dylan.
One of my faves actually.
Especially the song he recorded with Johnny Cash:
“Girl from the North Country”…
And “Lay Lady Lay”
*sigh*

Don’t stop reading here, I won’t get sentimental.
One last thing about my son in Nashville though – he e-mailed
that he “might come home with a pair of cool cowboy boots.”
If he will, I will take pictures! Promise!

..

On to other creative outbursts (’cause my son and cowboy boots
is definitely a creative outburst!)

...and yes, there is an explanation for the title of this post!

Bright days!

I want to thank you all for the support you gave after my “dentist disaster”
(see former post) I’m used to dentists and pain and tooth problems (I have
periodontitis) but last Thursday really was a scary experience.
I’m doing well now though and have one tooth less to brush.
Yes, I count my blessings! After all, my word for this year is “Smile” -
and that’s what I’m doing. Smile and look on the bright side!

What is bright right now?
Well, to start with – the weather is!
Today will be a hot day, but after tomorrow – when we first have some rain – the weather will be absolutely fantastic! (so they say…)

More brightness?
A long time ago, my mom gave me a crocheted skirt.
I call it my “witch skirt” – but some years ago my shoe heel got stuck
in the skirt and I tore it…
Because I didn’t have a crochet hook back then, I put the skirt in a drawer
and totally forgot about it…  I rediscovered it last weekend!
AND… I do have crochet hooks now! I repaired the skirt, washed it
and now it feels like having a brand new fashion item FOR FREE!!!
(And now you’re all curious to see it? I will take some pics soon when I’m
in a witchy mood…!)

Brightness:
I watch the “Tour de France” (it’s a 3 weeks long bicycle race) on TV and
the racers arrived in the Pyrenees (high mountains between France and Spain)
The next few days will be exciting to watch them climb, and since the numbers
one and two are close to each other in “points” (seconds) I will be stuck to the
TV to see who will win on Sunday!

And of course… some creative brightness!

Cold week – sunny pages!

If you were my friend on facebook – I deleted my account yesterday (May 31)
so you won’t find me overthere anymore. I don’t trust facebook for one bit
after all the things I read and heard about it – they use your data and sell it
to other companies – I’m keen and careful when it comes to my privacy
and so it feels good that I deleted my account! (for you who didn’t read
my post about it, it’s here)

..

Today it’s JUNE – that sounds like Summer and we haven’t even had a proper
Spring season yet… Aaargghh! I can hardly call the three or four nice weather
days we had last Month “Spring”, last week was cold and grey and rainy and
right now it’s foggy outside and they predict rain in the afternoon…
I hope the weather forecast is right by saying that the temperatures will rise
at the end of the week…

Organized me…

Oh MAN… remember I re-organized all my scrap stuff?
(I wrote a post with photo’s on that over here)

And then I saw the new Lotus Paperie challenge this week….
“use the packaging from a scrapbooking product”
Eeeeeekkk! I just threw them all away!

I had to look
real hard but,
PFEW! I found
something…

Two little
cards that
came with
stamps…

It’s not much
but it saved
my ass!

Back in the groove!

Slowly, but steadily, I’m coming back in the groove.
First I finished a page for my “BOM” (Book of Me)
On August 16 the prompt for a new page was about hidden talents.

When I thought about it, I smiled.
Yes, I do have a “hidden talent” and with this page I throw it out in the open…

Father’s Day & Lisa update

Today it’s Father’s day in the Netherlands and I made my dad this card.

Journaling:
“Dear,
the ways to say
“daddy, I love you”
aren’t way from
petered out yet.
Kisses from
your daughter.”

Back of the card,
you all know
this one…

“Je t’embrasse”
(I give you a hug)

He was very happy with it when he received it last week….

Yep, that’s right! I’d mistaken the date and send it one week early!
It was good for a laugh though, ’cause he called me and said he was honoured
that I loved him thát much to send a card already, and that he couldn’t wait
to see what next week (the correct date) would bring… heehee
