Resume
Artistic Objectives
I am a passionate artist who’s loves to try new techniques, products
and ideas and I always try to stretch myself in my work.
My favorite medium is paper. However, graduated as a teacher in arts
I have varied experiences in crafting and this allows me to combine
products and techniques from different fields with ease.
I have experience in art journaling, scrapbooking, mini-book crafting,
stamping/spray inking, photography, journaling, and bookbinding.
I built my own website “Marit’s Paper World” with a community
where I teach online workshops.
My Style
Defining my style is difficult for me because I think of each layout
as unique. Inspired by an idea/photo/particular paper or technique,
I go from there driven by my mood. I’m very consentrated and thoughtful
when it comes to creating. I like to put away my work from time to time
and look at it later with a fresh mind. My work needs a little time to “grow”.
The outcome can be very diverse: from vintage romantic to graphical or
mixed media like, but every single little piece, paper or embellishment is
well thought over. I never add something “to fill it up” – it has to have
a certain meaning to complete the whole. Although it isn’t always clear
to the observer my layouts always come with a “deeper meaning”.
I also create Art Journals. I enjoy adding mixed media (meaning sewing,
fabric, dimension) to my scrapbook layouts as well as my Art Journals.
There is a certain cross over when you look at both fields and I like
to explore the bounderies of it.
Teaching Experience
I have a grade in art history and “teacher in art disciplines”.
I write and teach online (art journal/scrapbooking) workshops
since February 2010 at “Marit’s Paper World”
