About me

You clicked on “about” so I guess you want to know more about me?
Well, here I am!

I’m Marit, and when you
take a look at all my work
in my private galleries on
this blog, you should learn
more about me…
but allright, I’ll lift a
corner of the veil.
I was born and raised in
Zeeland, a province in
the south-west of the
Netherlands and I grew up
in a little village right next
to the dunes and the
North Sea. Although I live
in another province now,
I visit Zeeland and my
family as often as I can.
I still miss the wind and the waves…

I live together with my beloved in Eindhoven. My love and I run a small company together in graphical communication and I am co-parent of a son
- born in 1992 - from a former relationship who lives with us part of the week and every other weekend.

I am the creative type. I graduated as a teacher in arts and as long as I can remember I’m busy with photography, paper, colours, pictures, drawings etc.
I wrote and I made little books since I was a kid. When I discovered “scrapbooking” I found the ultimate combination of all that. Since then I made lots and lots of layouts, art journal pages and little projects.

I started this blog in November 2008 because I wanted to share my
work, ideas & pleasure and inspire (and get inspired!) other
scrapbookers out there… I attracted quite a lot of blogreaders and
slowly, the idea came to mind to combine my passion for scrapbooking
and art journaling with my old profession (teacher in arts).
My blogreaders strengthened this idea by asking for tutorials, and when
I brought my plans out in the open, most of my readers were excited
and encouraged me to go for it. I expanded this blog and built a website.
And that’s where I am right now! Doing the things I most want to do:
scrapbooking, art journaling and teaching!
